About me

I'm Alex Flahive, a photographer based in Basingstoke. My media experience is wide and includes journalism, video and website design. 

Locality

As this website suggests, Basingstoke is where I work from. However I don't geographically restrict myself, and I am happy to work anywhere in the UK. Naturally, additional charges for travel and accommodation apply.

Approach

How I approach photographic tasks is dependent on both what you want and what is appropriate for the job in hand. I can operate in many situations without using flash, or I can deploy wireless flash technology. This helps if something is organic in nature (such as a event), and I can operate as a photojournalist - without interrupting or interfering.

Supplying photographs

Photographs can be supplied in numerous formats and dimensions. Small quantities of images can be uploaded at full-resolution and downloaded directly. Larger quantities, or images for long term use, can be supplied on customised CDs or DVDs.

Photographic licensing

All of my photographs are licensed out, and I retain the copyright to my work. In effect this is very much like buying a DVD or album, but with greater usage rights granted to you.
Photographs are licenced firstly on how they are being used, and then for the duration they are being used / or the number of copies being produced. Every licence is ad-hoc to your requirements.

Many images such as my Basingstoke Photographs are freely available for licensed use, as they have not been specifically commissioned.

Please note, copyright can only be transferred in a signed document.
